Church of the King – St. Charles Campus: Construction Update

Project Update: Church of the King – St. Charles Campus
At Gulf States Construction and Gulf States Real Estate Services, we’re proud to be leading the transformation of the Church of the King’s St. Charles campus, a flagship location that reflects both the growth of the church and its long-term commitment to “the region and the world.”
We recently caught up with Vice President Jason Reibert and Project Manager Parker Amar of the Gulf States Construction team to provide an update on the construction progress of this historic building.
Exterior Progress – Structural Steel & Phase Two Expansion
On the exterior of the building, we’ve begun erecting structural steel as part of the Phase Two footprint addition at the rear of the church. This phase marks a move to complete the exterior of the campus.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be pouring the new slab and continuing the vertical construction of the elevator shaft, which will connect the ground floor to the rooftop, providing critical accessibility and functionality for the entire facility.
Interior Renovation – Phase Three Scope in Motion
Inside the facility, our teams are executing the Phase Three scope of work, which includes:
- Rough-ins for new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems
- Early plaster work
- Construction of a double elevator pit on the first floor to enhance vertical access and efficiency
These improvements are all part of a full-scale interior renovation that will modernize the facility and support long-term use by the congregation and the broader community.
Key Milestone Reached
“The steel delivery is a huge milestone and really represents the church’s commitment to New Orleans and this location as one of their flagship campuses in the Gulf Coast region.”
– Jason Reibert, Vice President, Gulf States Construction Services
With steel erection underway, the vision for the new facility is becoming a reality, one beam at a time.
Looking Ahead – 2026 Opening
While there is still much work ahead, we’re on track and confident in our schedule. As we move forward, our focus will shift toward the interior buildout, with preparations underway for an anticipated opening in 2026.
“This project is more than just construction; it’s about building spaces where faith, community, and purpose come to life,” said President Mike Saucier.
