1. Gulf States/Bruno-Wink Family and friends celebrates Ribbon Cutting. Construction is complete on the three-story 40,000 square foot Class “A” Bruno-Wink Building.  Wink Companies will be occupying two-thirds of the building.  Leasing of the 3rd floor continues with substantial interest from other professional firms looking for an excellent Northshore address. 2. The Alack Corporate Office is now complete and open for business! This is one of 4 regional facilities Alack has now opened along the Gulf Coast. “It is a real honor to work with such an aggressive and successful Family like the Alacks. This facility is the new home for Hammond’s own Alack Refrigeration Corporate headquarters. The office is located in Phase I of the new Alack Business Park on Highway 190 in Hammond, Louisiana. 3. The AGEM Building is completed and Vital Home Health occupies the facility.  Located in the Providence Ridge Mixed Use Development near Airport Road and I-12 in Hammond, Providence Ridge continues to be a source of great interest from various business concerns in the area.  An additional Eighteen (18) acres of land are under contract and a Developer has received preliminary development approvals from the City to construct Hammond’s first gated, full amenities, Class “A” apartment project.  This 280+ unit complex will anchor the residential portion of the project, said Gulf States Real Estate Services President, Mike Saucier. 4. Gulf States completes work for the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District. At Zephyr Stadium $500,000 of 2008/2009 capital improvements were completed and $250,000 more in Gustav/Ike hurricane repairs.

5. Gulf States Real Estate Services new listings have grown in the 1st Quarter of 2009.  Our success in the Northshore marketplace and beyond is being expanded even during tough economic times.  We are pleased with the quality of the new properties and challenges placed before us, as well as the quality and diversity of the client mix during this growth period.

6. Leasing continues at the new Copperstill Marketplace retail center to be constructed by Gulf States Real Estate Services in conjunction with Goodbee Land Company LLC. Although retail demand has slowed, Gulf States Real Estate Services continues to work aggressively in the retail sector focusing our attention now on more traditional goods and service retailers somewhat buffered from the recession woes such as food and drugs. The 9 acre project is located on the S.E. corner of Hwy 1077 & 1085.

7. New 330,000 square foot retail center, Evangeline Court Marketplace, in upper Lafayette Parish, LA kicks off with a New Year bang.  Brookshire Grocery has committed to build a new 62,000 square foot mega food store for the project.  Other tenants are now being pursued to commence the 1st Phase of this 33 acre development in 2009.  For leasing information, contact Janita Lebleu at 337-349-2260.

8. The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority has signed a consultant contract with Gulf States Real Estate Services. Gulf States was selected recently by NORA to provide redevelopment planning guidance & real estate consulting to them for approximately 7 key properties across Orleans Parish. The 1st property we intend to focus on is redevelopment of the old Gentilly Woods on Chef Menteur Highway in Eastern New Orleans, said Sam Saia, the project manager with NORA. Gentilly Woods Shopping Center is the oldest shopping center in New Orleans. “We are excited about the possibilities here, said Mike Saucier, President of Gulf States Real Estate. I shopped at this property back in the 70s and in its “hay day.” It is impressive how the area has come back one home at a time. I think Gentilly Woods Shopping Center will make a comeback given the will & resolve of the residents within this center’s primary market area.”

9. Gulf States completes 1077 Properties, LLC Building – This 18,000 square foot, two (2) story office is located in the Tammany West Multiplex Business Park.
